The Big Read
The Big Read is a program created by the National Endowment of the Arts. It's goal is to encourage reading for pleasure by providing an opportunity to read and discuss a single book within a community. The 2014 Big Read book is Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451. This dystopian novel, published in 1953, presents a future American society where books are outlawed and "firemen" burn any that are found.
